Huts List - Tasmania

The mountain huts of Kosciusko are all in NSW, but many excellent examples exist in Victoria and Tasmania in particular. This is a fairly definitive list from Tasmania and has grown considerably in 2003, with help from more than a few friends! Please note that it is provided for interest - KHA as an organisation does not undertake work on Tasmanian huts. List last updated 15 May 2010.

The World Heritage Area

Tasmania has areas of outstanding significance and a significant component of the South West is designated as the Tasmanian World Heritage Area, (in fact it covers 20% of the State of Tasmania) including the following National Parks -

  • Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park
  • The Southwest National Park
  • Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park
  • Walls of Jerusalem National Park
  • The Hartz Mountains National Park
  • Central Plateau Conservation Area
  • Adamsfield Conservation Area.
